about

This soundtrack contains music from and inspired by The Last Symphony, a narrative driven hidden object game developed in 2012 by Shoefish Games and the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab.

Interview with Clara Fernández-Vara (Product Owner, Researcher) & Richard Gould (Composer & Sound Designer): techtv.mit.edu/videos/21488-the-last-symphony-game-design-research

A note from the composer: The music is strongly interwoven with the story of the Carmine siblings and can reveal certain elements of the story (if you pay attention). Think of it as a sort of musical hidden object game. There are specific melodies, harmonies and instrumentations associated with the characters and objects within the game. I hope you enjoy this soundtrack and I encourage you to play the game that inspired it.

"As the player builds a logical grouping of objects, a harmonious symphony swells. The music in the game is absolutely lovely, and perfectly compliments the soft, hand-drawn art." - Leigh Alexander, Gamasutra

Special Thanks: First and foremost, I would like to thank all the members of Shoefish Games. It was a joy to work alongside you all, your inspiring work ultimately drove me to create this soundtrack. I would like to thank my family without whose support I wouldn't be where I am doing what I love every day. I want to thank the entire GAMBIT Game-Lab staff for affording us all such a wonderful opportunity to work alongside each other, on such unique projects in wonderful surroundings. I would like to thank my professors at Berklee who share their knowledge and inspire me to reach my full potential. A special note of thanks goes to Laurynn who put up with me during the long evenings during which I worked on this soundtrack. Lastly, I would like to thank those who contributed directly to this work out of kindness alone, Richard, RoRo, Matt and Alex.
